Denny Wainscott

Frankfort, Indiana

Denny Wainscott was born and raised in Frankfort, Indiana. He received a BS degree in education but entered the corporate sector rather than teaching. Denny changed directions altogether at the age of 50, when he entered the art world through the medium of gourds. He has received many awards for his hand-carved gourds. His pieces are uniquely made with inlaid turquoise, lapis, malachite, silver, and mother of pearl. Denny was honored to be in the Smithsonian Craft Optimism show in 2022, and his work is displayed in the Worrell Gallery in Santa Fe. Learn more about Denny’s art at www.morningdewgourds.com.
