Doug Schneiter

Loveland, Colorado

“My paternal genealogy literally translates to “a woodsman who cuts,” which fits me well. I have always enjoyed time in the forest and making things from wood. I followed that passion through college, earning BA and MS degrees in industrial arts and sciences at the University of Northern Iowa and Colorado State University. That path led to nearly thirty years of teaching until I retired in 2014.

Since 1993, I have focused on artistic woodturning and have kept busy after retirement teaching woodturning throughout the US at symposia and club demos and workshops. My work has been featured in Woodturning and American Woodturner magazines, and my turnings are in private collections across the country. You can see more of my work online at www.dougschneiter.com.”
