Jason Millward

American Fork, Utah

Jason had a passion for sculpting from a young age. He trained in traditional, classical techniques, which serve as a base for his current, contemporary style. After studying in France for a summer, he enrolled at Utah Valley University, earning a BFA in sculpture, following with an MFA from Utah State University.

Jason currently enjoys teaching at the university level, but his passion lies in stone carving. “Each piece is a discovery waiting to happen. I work with the stone to find the design nature has already begun. When I finally discover the sculpture trapped within the stone it is always a special moment for me.”
