Karen Terhune

Karen discovered stone carving at Bellarmine College (now University) in Louisville, Kentucky, where she earned her BA in art.

Carving stone for forty-plus years, Karen is best known for her “whimsical cat” sculptures. She has won awards from art fairs and festivals including Josephine Sculpture Park’s Invitational Sculpture Show $5000 Purchase Award in 2018 (that sculpture remains on display in in the park in Frankfort, Kentucky); and Best of Sculpture at the Evanston Art and Big Fork Festival in 2017 in Evanston, Illinois. In 2022 her work was selected for a group show at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art in, Owensboro, Kentucky, and her life-sized Christ sculpture, titled Resurrection, is located at St. Michael’s Church in Bradford, Indiana.
